Shock Post Strong 3-0 Record Before Championship Final Loss to Dallas Flash
GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The St. Louis Shock delivered an outstanding performance at the Major League Pickleball Mid-Season Tournament, posting a 3-0 record until advancing to the championship final before falling to the Dallas Flash to finish, finishing as tournament runner-up.
The Shock's impressive tournament run showcased the team's depth and resilience, with dominant victories over three of the league's top teams before a hard-fought championship final against the Dallas Flash.
TOURNAMENT RESULTS:
July 10 - Shock def. SoCal Hard Eights 3-1 The Shock opened tournament play with a commanding victory, highlighted by strong performances across all disciplines. The team's balanced attack was led by Anna Bright and Kate Fahey in women's doubles, while Hayden Patriquin and Gabriel Tardio anchored the men's side. It was the second time the Shock have defeated the Hard Eights during the 2025 MLP season.
July 12 - Shock def. Texas Ranchers 3-0 (Morning) In a dominant morning performance, the Shock swept the Texas Ranchers 3-0, winning decisively in women's doubles (11-8), men's doubles (11-6), and mixed doubles (14-12). The sweep demonstrated the team's consistency across all playing formats, and marked the second regulation win over the Ranchers this season.
July 12 - Shock def. New Jersey 5s 3-1 (Afternoon) The Shock continued their impressive form with a 3-1 victory over the New Jersey 5s in a thrilling afternoon match. Despite facing top-ranked players Anna Leigh Waters and Zane Navratil, the Shock prevailed with clutch performances in mixed doubles and strong doubles play. The match was a highly anticipated rematch of one of the leagues strongest budding rivalries, after the shock previously defeated the 5s in regulation at MLP Orlando in an exchange that went viral across all pickleball media outlets.
July 13 - Dallas Flash def. Shock 3-1 (Championship Final) The Shock's tournament run concluded in the championship final with a hard-fought 3-1 loss to the Dallas Flash. The match was highly anticipated and featured the clear #1 and #2 teams in the league. Despite the setback, the runner-up finish established the Shock as one of the premier contenders in Major League Pickleball and provided valuable momentum heading into their home event. The Shock earned 4 season standing points

MARATHON MLP ST. LOUIS HOMECOMING
The momentum from the runner-up finish in Grand Rapids carries directly into Marathon MLP St. Louis, where the Shock will host their first home Major League Pickleball event July 17-20 at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis in an event that the Shock are promising to be MLP’s biggest and best ever. It will be the first time MLP is hosted in a 10,000+ seat pro-level arena.
The tournament marks the eighth of 10 regular-season stops on the 2025 Major League Pickleball calendar and represents the first time the professional league has brought its co-ed team format to St. Louis.
The Shock will match up against three of the leagues top teams including the Columbus Sliders, Brooklyn Pickleball Team, and a highly anticipated rematch between the #1 and #2 Dallas Flash and St. Louis Shock.
