St. Louis Shock Dominate MLP Columbus, Maintain Undefeated Record and Advance To 8-0

COLUMBUS, OH – The St. Louis Shock delivered a historic performance at MLP Columbus, sweeping all six matches and compiling an extraordinary 23-1 game record to establish themselves as the team to beat in Major League Pickleball's 2025 season.

Building on their 2-0 start in Orlando, the Shock showcased their young talent and tactical prowess against some of pickleball's most accomplished players, including former tennis Grand Slam champions Jack Sock and Genie Bouchard.

"What we witnessed in Columbus was special," said Ross Chaifetz, Owner and General Manager of the St. Louis Shock. "Going 6-0 against this level of competition, with four shutout victories, demonstrates the extraordinary chemistry and skill level of this young team. They're playing with confidence beyond their years."

The Shock opened the event with a commanding 4-0 victory over the Atlanta Bouncers, followed by a 3-1 win against the Miami Pickleball Club. The momentum continued with shutout wins over the hometown Columbus Sliders and Orlando Squeeze on day three.

The team saved perhaps their most dominant performance for day three, dismantling the Phoenix Flames 4-0 with decisive scores of 11-1, 11-2, 11-1, and 11-0 – allowing just four total points in the entire match. The Shock completed their perfect run with a 4-0 victory over the New York Hustlers.

Anna Bright and Kate Fahey were flawless in women's doubles, going 6-0 in Columbus. The men's doubles team of Gabriel Tardio and Hayden Patriquin went 5-1, while the mixed doubles combinations dominated with a combined 12-0 record.

"The team's execution across all formats was remarkable," said Andrew Haines, Chief Operating Officer of the St. Louis Shock. "What stands out beyond the scores is how they've come together as a unit. This is a special group that genuinely enjoys playing together, and that translates to their performance on the court."

Fans are flocking to follow the team's journey through the "Shock and Awe" YouTube series, with Episode 1 debuting during MLP Columbus and racking up nearly 10,000 views in less than a week. Episode 2 will provide comprehensive behind-the-scenes coverage of the team's undefeated Columbus performance, including exclusive player interviews, strategy sessions, and celebratory moments from their historic run.

With their perfect 8-0 season record, the Shock now stand second in the league standings behind the Dallas Flash, who hold the top position with a 4-0 record and slightly higher points per match average.
