St. Louis Shock Secures 2nd Place Finish in Regular Season, Earns Bye to Semifinals in Orlando Playoffs
St. Louis, MO – The St. Louis Shock have officially finished their regular season in the Major League Pickleball Premier Level. The team finished the season with a 19-4 record and has secured the No. 2 seed, securing one of the coveted top-two seeds and bye to the Semifinals in the upcoming MLP Playoffs in Orlando, Florida. This strong finish places the Shock among the top teams, granting them a well-deserved bye alongside the No. 1 seed, New Jersey 5s, who the Shock met once in regular season play and defeated in regulation, 3-1.
Widely regarded as one of the most talented and electric teams in MLP, two of the Shock’s players - Anna Bright and Hayden Patriquin - finished the season #2 and #3 respectfully across all player performance statistics. Team Captain Anna Bright finished the last regular season event in Las Vegas with a perfect record of 10-0, going undefeated across both gender doubles and mixed doubles. The Shock men’s duo of Hayden Patriquin and Gabe Tardio finished the season ranked first in DUPR-adjusted efficiency, with a record of 17-6. The women’s genders unit of Anna Bright and Kate Fahey finished the season second in the standings with a record of 19-4, and handed the New Jersey 5’s women’s team their sole loss of the season.
The top six teams from each level (Premier and Challenger) earned their playoff spots, with the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds from each level advancing directly to the Semifinals. The Shock will face one of the survivors of the Quarterfinals matchups featuring the Dallas Flash, D.C. Pickleball Team, Texas Ranchers, and New York Hustlers. Quarterfinal opponents will be No. 6 New York Hustlers vs. No. 3 Dallas Flash, and No.5 Texas Ranchers vs. No 4 DC Pickleball Team.

In a season marked by dominant play, the St. Louis Shock now looks to build on their momentum in Orlando from November 22-24, where they’ll battle for a spot in the inaugural MLP season final Championship.
“We are incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished this season,” said Ross Chaifetz, Co-Owner & General Manager of the St. Louis Shock. “Faced with the toughest strength-of-schedule of all Playoff teams during the regular season, securing a bye to the Semifinals is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our players and front office. We are excited to bring an unmatched level of energy and thrill to Orlando and represent St. Louis in the playoffs in our pursuit of a Championship.”
The Shock’s upcoming matchup in the Semifinals promises to be an electrifying showdown, as they face off against one of the league’s best teams. The playoffs bring an extremely high-stakes event to MLP and pickleball broadly, representing the first ever regular season championship for Major League Pickleball following the merger of MLP and PPA into a unified governing body, the United Pickleball Association (“UPA”).
